China and Lebanon share a long history of friendly exchanges. The ancient Silk Road served as a bond that connected the people of the two countries. Lebanon was one of the first Arab countries to recognize the People's Republic of China. Ever since China and Lebanon established diplomatic ties in 1971, bilateral relations have progressed smoothly. The two sides enjoy growing mutual political trust and fruitful cooperation in a wide range of areas. China-Lebanon friendship is deeply rooted among the people in both countries.
